 1. Introduction

ShelfGem respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. It is our policy to respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement and is accessible on this site, please notify us as described below.


2. Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe that content on ShelfGem infringes your copyright, please provide our designated Copyright Agent with the following information in writing:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works are covered by this notice, a representative list of the copyrighted works.
  • Identification of the infringing material: A description of the material that you claim is infringing and that you want removed or access to which you want disabled, and the URL or other location of that material.
  • Contact Information: Your address, telephone number, and email address, so that we may contact you.
  • Statement of Good Faith: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • Statement of Accuracy: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.
  • Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

4. Counter-Notice

If you believe that your content was mistakenly removed or disabled due to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notice. The counter-notice should include:

  • Your contact information (shelfgem@gmail.com).
  • Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which ShelfGem may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notification or an agent of such person.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Repeat Infringers

ShelfGem will terminate user accounts that are determined to be repeat infringers. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
